BIC Purbeck Hall
Friday 14-Sunday 16 April 2017
We are proud to announce Hot Rocks Restaurant and Bar as our official sponsor for the Big Bournemouth Beer Festival.
Now in its 8th year, the hugely popular Big Bournemouth Beer Festival returns to the Bournemouth International Centre. There’s something for everyone at this year’s festival with a huge range of traditional real ales complimented by a range of novelty and seasonal beers, plus the ever popular cider and perry bar and a wine bar. Food and bar snacks will also be available to purchase.
There will be ticketed sessions on Friday and Saturday along with ‘Sup-up Sunday’, a non-ticketed session with no admission fee. An array of live music will be available at the ticketed sessions.
The Jimmy Hillbillies
The Jimmy Hillbillies are a seven-piece good-time, hoedowning, "Rockabilly Stomp" outfit straight out of Dorset.
Specialising in a heady mix of old time Hillbilly and Country tunes, mashed up with a driving rockabilly bass and beat; the band feature mandolin, double bass, country guitar, two accordions, a skiffle washboard, didgeridoo, drums and a variety of percussive implements.
The JHB grew out of the embers of, and associations with, such local legends as Pronghorn, Hoedown at Hanks, SlapDashPicks, Plastic Paddy, and Kentucky Fight Club - taking years of experience playing the Dorset hoedown scene, ignoring it all, and coming up with the sound that is pure Rockabilly Stomp!
Based in Bournemouth and Poole, The Floaters are quite simply one of the best live bands on the south coast.
Emphasising Rock, they dip into their various personal tastes to introduce references from Blues, Soul, Funk, Pop and Jazz, offering a night to remember.
With a repertoire based on the less obvious (ensuring no audience is left thinking "not this one again…"), lead and backing vocals are shared equally across all three members of the band; empowering harmonies and vocal arrangements which are something truly magical.
The Vintage Dogs
The Vintage Dogs combine their individual backgrounds in Rock'n'Roll, Punk, Alternative and Glam Rock, throw in a bit of Classic Rock and kick out a few anthems to boot. You’ll be sure to hear some of the songs you love, as well as some you hadn’t realised you’d forgotten!
Expect the likes of Slade alongside Marc Bolan; Pulp scattered amongst Bowie, Black Sabbath and The Jam – the Rolling Stones, Ramones, Alice Cooper and Stray Cats are all just a taster.
Having played together for over 30 years, the 'Dogs are guaranteed to have you "Dancin' on a Saturday Night!"
Sup Up Sunday
